I truly enjoyed reading this. You described our sense of closure so aptly it stung. Lol. I reckon that closure, like most abstract concepts, is an illusion. If you have ever truly loved then, like you said, there’s bound to be a sense of incompleteness -or a missing chunk, if you will- when things don’t go as planned with the person you loved. It’s that lingering doubt that festers and I dare say that it’s its presence that confirms that truly you have loved.
This piece struck a chord with me, both with the message and the way it was expressed. Your writing often feels to me like a tour of places I have not been or have seen only dimly. A tour with a wonderfully knowledgeable and expressive guide. The site of today's piece *is* one I've known, and you've helped me see it in a new light. Thank You.

You’re an amazing writer.
Thank you so much for your lovely words, Mifa. That the feeling of lingering doubt confirms that you have truly loved: profound. x
Marvelous concept, “new day” in whatever culture!
Thank you, Gretchen. I am thrilled to think of reading. I miss you and Dave. xxx
